What is Reiki?

Reiki is an energy healing treatment that restores balance to our bodies. It works to relieve stress, promote relaxation, clear energy blockages and ease pain. Also, increased awareness, insight, wisdom and personal growth. Reiki healing works well on both humans and animals and is used throughout the world, in hospitals & treatment centres, such places as Great Ormond Street Hospital.

What am I likely to feel during a session?

Everyone has a different experience, the more treatments you have the greater the healing! People experience deep relaxation, releasing of anxiety & tension, emotions (tearful), falling asleep, some have feelings of hot & cold sensations, involuntary twitching, stomach rumbling & some see colours & lights. Helps the client to feel refreshed with a positive, balanced outlook on life!

What if I no not feel anything during the session?

This is a very common question, everyone has a different experience with Reiki. Over the following 48 hours your body will be working to heal itself, regardless of whether you feel anything during the session or not!

What should I wear?

Lose clothing is advisable, but not essential. It is best to remove all jewellery on arrival for your session.

Do I need to remove my clothing for a treatment?

Healing Reiki can be transmuted through anything and as such the sessions are performed with the recipient fully clothed.

How should I prepare for my session?

It can be advantageous to eat healthily & not consume alcohol for 48 hours prior to the session. Do not, however, let this stop you having a session, it is better to still begin your healing and then develop habits to prepare as you have each session.

How is the Reiki treatment given?

Reiki energy flows from the practitioners hands into the client. The recipient usually lays on a massage table, although Reiki can be performed with the client standing or seated. The practitioner then places her hands on or near to the clients body in a series of hand positions.

What is Animal Reiki?

Animal Reiki works as with humans; healing, deep relaxation, stress relief and aids their development. It is good for when they have experienced traumas, loss, a move or exhibit behavioural problems. Animals are very intuitive and receptive to Reiki energy. If they do bark, growl or run away because they are in too much pain then distance Reiki can be used. Who can 'learn' Reiki

Reiki can be learnt by anyone, the ability to do Reiki is transferred from the teacher to the student through a process called an attunement. Reiki can be described as similar to radio waves, when we tune in we pick up the radio signal, much the same as ‘tuning in’ to the universal life force for performing healing Reiki sessions. As we ‘tune in’, Reiki is channeled through our hands and works best with either the laying of hands or hands held over the recipient, at the seven chakra points, and anywhere else the Practitioner is guided to work on.

Distance Reiki & Attunements

For Distance Reiki & Attunements the practitioner 'tunes-in' to the healing energy of Reiki and mentally focuses on the recipient for it to work, same with distance Tarot Readings, 'tuning in' to the client, their location and human form! Learning’ Reiki has been likened to plugging a lamp into an electricity outlet, the energy is already within us, it just needs to be 'turned on' via the Reiki attunements, from a Reiki Master. Energy is everywhere and our bodies are energetic by nature. Our bones resonate at lower frequencies while our blood, thoughts and so on, vibrate at higher frequencies, this magnetic pulse is known as a bio magnetic field (Ki, Prana, Chi).

How often should I have Reiki?

Regular treatments are recommended, as part of your health routine. Initially it can be a great idea to have a weekly treatment to clear blockages and toxins that have built up over time. Everyone is unique so the frequency of treatments varies. I self-reiki daily & my clients come twice weekly; weekly; fortnightly & every 3 / 4 / 5 or 6 weeks.

Is Reiki good for Fertility & Pregnancy?

Reiki ,and more specifically Crystal Reiki, is amazing for assisting with fertility, pregnancy and post and pre-birth care. When our well-being is compromised both emotional or physical it can affect the chances of fertility and our overall health. Treatments reduce stress, remove emotional blockages & stimulate the reproductive organs & immune system, making the process easier throughout. The extreme stress couples place on themselves trying to fall pregnant can be eliminated, preventing this from being a factor.
