How it can help

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is a great practice to use with nutrition, to identify triggers, change eating habits and achieve long term health and fitness benefits.
Using a five step plan, working out ones motivations, any barriers, a plan of action, goals (using a SMART plan) and a reward system for each time the goals are reached. Coupled with positive thinking i.e. 'you are not on a diet, you are on a new healthy eating plan!' Read more in our blog.
*Please note: CBT is a short term process that is very effective for immediate change. It does not go into the deep past, so if that is needed then it is advisable to attend comprehensive counselling sessions.

About CBT

Healing Trees
CBT is a form of counselling that relies on the client re-learning their negative thought processes to change their habits and overcome their problems. It can be used to cure many conditions, including, mild depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, addictions such as smoking, and for life coaching so that people have the confidence to follow their dreams and live the life they desire! CBT challenges the core beliefs that are instilled in us as children. We are worthy, we are enough and we can achieve anything!
The sessions usually last for a pre-agreed fixed period of time and the client completes homework, such as a daily journal, to list their thoughts, feelings and any triggers for the unhealthy and unhappy behaviours. It is about re-training the brain to overcome negative, destructive thoughts and to re-build self-confidence.
